What to Wear Today Your Next Wear Everywhere Plaid Shirt Should Be One of These
Check-pattern clothes never really go out of style, but menswear and the plaid shirt have been on a bit of a break lately. The lumberjack-hipster heyday that was 2010 to 2014 caused us all to burn out on the staple. Now, a few years later, at the apex of the athleisure movement, we're ready to let the plaid shirt back into our closets. And, like all rebounds, the reunion is a passionate one. Think: aggressively big motifs, saturated colors, touchable fabrics like linen, flannel, and even mohair. Raf Simons, Gucci, and Dior Homme were just a few of the brands that showed bigger, badder plaids on the Fall 2016 runways and contemporary and high-street labels have followed suit. Now they're everywhere. We say, live it up. Who knows how long this affair will last.
