White Heart Foundation carried out a press conference to unveil project RUNWAY MANNEQUIN CHARITY FASHION SHOW theme CHILD NOT SLAVE. The said event is schedule to hold 28TH of AUGUST, 2016 and its geared towards providing a platform to create awareness for CHILD LABOUR (CHILD NOT SLAVE) and to raise funds through the charity fashion ball to send children from the streets back to school. The campaign against CHILD LABOUR by WHITE HEART FOUNDATION officially kicks off today the 18th of April, 2016

Not all work done by children should be classified as child labour that is to be targeted for elimination. Children’s(children) or adolescents’ participation in work that does not affect their health and personal development or interfere with their schooling, is generally regarded as being something positive. This includes activities such as helping their parents around the home, assisting in a family business or earning pocket money outside school hours and during school holidays. These kinds of activities contribute to children’s development and to the welfare of their families; they provide them with skills and experience, and help to prepare them to be productive members of society during their adult life.
IMG-20160623-WA0004The term “Child labour” refers to the employment of children in any work that deprives children(them) of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school i.e be EDUCATED, and that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful. This practice is considered exploitative but exceptions include work by child artists, family duties I.e house chores, supervised training e.t.c. Categories of “Child labour” includes any work performed by children under the age of 12, non-light work done by children aged 12–14, and hazardous work done by children aged 15–17.

Thus the focus of this campaign on CHILD LABOUR tagged CHILD NOT SLAVE by WHITE HEART FOUNDATION is on how child labour interferes with the EDUCATION of a child!

let our voice count let’s join in the campaign and advocate for the children and speak for the young generation. When child labour is employed, its child abuse and child( children) used as laborers don’t even have time for EDUCATION or (to) play.

Let’s (Let) children be children. ” GIVE THEM SCHOOL not TOOLS” every child has right to EDUCATION. STOP CHILD LABOUR TODAY!!!
