CelebrityPeople Are Going to Have Lots of Feelings About Colin Kaepernick's Socks
Expect the hot takes to keep rolling in.
NFL Quarterback Colin Kaepernick's choice to not stand during the pledge of allegiance as a protest to police brutality has given way to a ton of discussions on what an athlete's role is in the political sphere, as well as a metric ton of bad hot takes. (You can read the lowlights here.) But despite the backlash from some, Kaepernick isn't retreating from his cause, as he's said he will again sit down again during tonight's game in San Diego. In addition, today it was also discovered that during the past few weeks, Kaepernick has been wearing socks that depict police officers as pigs to practice. "Pigs" has long been used as a derogatory word for police officers.
The socks are made by a company called 40s & Shorties, a brand that also sells socks depicting more innocuous things like tequila bottles, sports cars, and Tribe Called Quest album covers.
Kaepernick's choice in socks likely will not go over well with his detractors. In other words, expect more piping hot takes to flood the Internet in the coming days.
