Did you know that Miss World Manushi Chhillar is a doctor? Yes, she’s excellent in beauty and brains. Asia had been left out of the Miss World Winners’ hall of fame until 1966, when a final year medical student Reita Faria, changed India’s fate forever draped in six yards of elegance. Almost three decades later, light-eyed beauty Aishwarya Rai bagged the honour for her country after she beat everyone in the competition. Rai’s win at the prestigious pageant paved way for many other Indian beauties to follow including the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Diana Hayden and the rest. What’s more, another medical student Manushi Chhillar has re-created history and became the 67th titleholder of the Miss World crown. Miss World Manushi Chhillar has been on a roll these days. Ever since she got back to India after being crowned the winner at the prestigious beauty pageant, the 20-year-old stunner has managed to give us a series of fashion goals, mainly in traditional wear, in the short span of a week. While she proved she is a beauty with brains at the pageant, closer home her sartorial choices have shown us why she is was deserving of the crown more than anybody else. Armed with an alluring smile, Chhillar has been clad by the who’s who of the Indian fashion industry, namely Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani, Monisha Jaising, Gauri and Nainika, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, among others. While she carries out her official appearances with charm and grace, here is a lowdown of the beauty’s best fashion statements ever since she landed in the country.
Receiving the Indian of the Year Special Achievement Award by a news broadcast channel, Chhillar looked every bit a princess in a wine red off-shoulder Monisha Jainsing gown with golden embellishments on top.
