KENNY EYITEMI OKORIE, THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF KETO COUTURE OPENS UP ON HISTORY OF CLOTHING LINE, FAMILY AND FUTURE PLANS TO FASHION NETWORK AFRICA.
THE STORY.
She came from a very humble family in Okere, Warri south of Delta State. At a tender age, she was close to her mum who is very fashionable and creative. She got inspired by the creative nature of her mum. As a young student in school, she made clothes for friends and it grew from that moment further. Anyone who knows her from childhood would not be surprised to see her stand out among her peer in the fashion industry.
The name KETO was formed from the combination of the two first letters of her name “Kenny” and her hubby “Tochukwu. And that is to confirm the strong bond between her and her hubby. Talking about her family and business,she said business and family are two different things. “I have been able to reconcile both. No matter how much I make from my business, my family comes first”
Keto Couture was given birth to on the 15th of May 2008 with the objectives of dressing clients to their satisfaction and to be a brand that all and sundry shall reckon with. With diverse patronage from all part of the world, Keto couture is poised at maintaining its pedigree in the fashion industry.
Mrs. Okorie is presently working with Professionals in the fashion industry in Nigeria to revive the industry and place it on an enviable position.
Keto couture will embark on an international photo shoot in London with Isis Models this month. She has already made plans for the shoot. Also, She will be showcasing her collections in forth-coming international shows like, Couture fashion show, New York, African fashion week Johannesburg,DC fashion week to mention just a few.
She has been involved in several corporate social responsibilities and she plans investing more on charity in the near future.
