Why we love the Yas Hotel Abu Dhabi

Architecture aficionados will love this hotel as much as petrol heads. The incredible brick and metal structure weaves its way around the 5.5 km long F1 track. A top the main structure of the hotel is a white metal clad. According to the architects behind the hotel, they wanted to create a structure which embodied “speed, movement and spectacle” as well as “the artistry and geometries which form the basis of ancient Islamic art and craft traditions.” Be sure to pack comfy shoes though – although visual stunning, the hotel is enormous. It runs over two separately built towers and there are two different lift systems to go between the two.

The ESPA at Yas is a world away from the fast pace race track outside, and a must-visit when staying at the hotel. The expansive two-floor spa covers everything from aromatherapy massage treatments and facials, to body wraps and scrubs along with couples treatments Watch out for the stunning six metre-high water feature when having a treatment. There’s separate steam room facilities for men and women, and guests also get full use of a second stream room along with other facilities at the gym across the hallway on the same floor. After your treatment be sure to check out the incredible chill out room, which features sunbeds and floor to ceiling windows, with views over the harbour. For Abu Dhabi residents, ESPA also offer some great membership deals at the spa.

Epic rooftop bar and pool
Although the hotel has multiple restaurants, the standout feature at Yas is its rooftop bar. Our tip? Head for sundowners at the iconic bar. The hotel runs plenty of early evening offers which are available until 8pm. In a separate part of the roof top is the hotel’s fabulous pool area. Be sure to get there early – there are only around 50 sunbeds by the pool, and will book up quickly during busier seasons at the hotel.

Room with a view
All rooms in the hotel come with fabulous view of either the F1 track or the marina, where you can celeb spot the rich and famous on board the many yachts docked in the harbour.

Local amenities
The local area is fast growing, Cipriani, Iris and Diablito Food and Music are all close by, along with a range of beach clubs and family entertainment parks including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld. If you’re looking to relax, look no further than the hotel’s own rooftop. Although guests have free access to the hotel’s nearby Yas Beach Club, the rooftop pool offers a more luxurious, five-star experience.
