Fashion ShowsEvery Celeb at Tom Ford's Fashion Show Looking Amazing in Their (Tom Ford) Suit
Not that we're really all that surprised.
Tom Ford's see-now-buy-now Fall-Winter 2016 collection saw the legendary designer embracing new directions within the ultra-luxurious aesthetic he's been cultivating for almost 20 years. That meant bolder patterns, mossier tones, less suiting, and younger models hit the runway than we're accustomed to seeing from Ford, but here's the thing: Don't think for a second he suddenly forgot how to make a tailored jacket and pants better than anyone in the business. Proof positive were all of the celebs who showed up to watch the show looking flat-out amazing in Tom Ford suiting.
Whether in blue checks, solid gray, or in the case of Zayn Malik, a black double-breasted number sharp enough to cut glass, Hollywood stars including Jon Hamm, other Tom (Hanks), Neil Patrick Harris, Garrett Hedlund, Baz Luhrmann, and even NYC hometown hero Carmelo Anthony (yes, Ford can cut a suit for tall guys) showed off the wide range of Ford's tailoring collection. But though the suits were different, each one still had that distinct air of Tom Ford elegance. (It's all in the lapels, baby.)
Point is, we're happy for all the guys out there who are enjoying their Thursday splurging on Tom Ford's new mustard yellow turtlenecks and patterned green tuxedo jackets. But for most, it was the red carpet, not the runway, that provided further evidence of why a well-made Tom Ford suit remains the holy grail of the designer's arsenal.
