At a recent Dolce & Gabbana’s fashion show in Milan, drones joined the usual models walking the runway.
At the beginning of the show, eight drones emerged from a large set of doors carrying an array of colorful handbags. The drone portion of the show only lasted around three minutes, then human models proceeded to walk the runway.
The company staged events in Milan over the weekend and, as Fashionistareported, kept the crowds waiting for over an hour on Sunday while displaying multilingual and insistent requests to turn off anything capable of connecting to or creating a WiFi signal. Technical difficulties with the drones reportedly caused the show to be delayed by 45 minutes.
The reason why became apparent when a flock of drones hovered down the catwalk, each bearing a handbag. Following the drones, real models appeared on the runway, presenting Dolce & Gabbana’s signature styles, such as lacy details, mini dresses and sequins.
