Mickey and Minnie just became the hottest runway models of the season at Disneyland fashion show.
The collection was mostly vintage-inspired tees, jackets, and other cool kid-inspired streetwear.
The show featured dancers, a marching band, and a PG-13 version of the typical Disney parade.
Open Ceremony hosted its fashion show on Wednesday, March 7th, 2018 at 9:00 PM in the center of the park at Disneyland, making it the first in over 40 years.
“To do a show at Disneyland has been something that we joked about, talked about, dreamed about; we said if we could ever do a show at Disneyland, that would be the ultimate ultimate,” Opening Ceremony’s co-founder Humberto Leon told Fashionista.com.
And then the “ultimate ultimate” happened when they finally did it at Disneyland. Skipping New York Fashion Week for this season, Open Ceremony brought its fashion show to Disneyland for the Spring 2018 which is the happiest place on Earth.
In celebration of Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday, the New York-based brand dedicated its entire spring collection to the most famous “models” of Disneyland, Mickey and Minnie. Opening Ceremony took over Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland for this special occasion—marking the first time in over 40 years that the Californian park has hosted a fashion show.
After seeing the most famous faces of Mickey and Minnie Mouse strut the Disneyland runway, guests also had three hours to roam Mickey’s Toontown to go on rides, see attractions, and have the greatest time on Earth. And at 9:00 PM in the center of the park, the runway show of Opening Ceremony began.
While half of the collection is see-now, buy-now and already available to shop, the other half will drop in October. The pieces will be available to shop in Disneyland (for the first time in brands history) and are also available online at openingceremony.com presently.
Mickey and Minnie walked the Disneyland runway, and also took the final bow alongside designers and “Opening Ceremony” founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon.
