PoliticsWhy George H. W. Bush Is (Reportedly) Not Voting for Donald Trump
It’s not rocket science.
A story for modern times: A Kennedy leaked the news that a Bush is voting for a Clinton. As Politico reported early Tuesday, former president George H. W. Bush is not backing the Republican candidate, in this instance ventriloquized used Huggies diaper Donald Trump. Instead, his vote's going to Hillary Clinton. The news comes courtesy of Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, who posted a photo with No. 41 accompanied with the caption "The President told me he’s voting for Hillary!!”
When pressed to confirm who the former president is voting for, a representative for Bush, 92, told CNN, "The vote President Bush will cast as a private citizen in some 50 days will be just that: a private vote cast in some 50 days. He is not commenting on the presidential race in the interim." You might notice that's not a denial.
So why is Bush reportedly voting for Clinton and not GOP nominee Donald Trump? Could it be because of H.W.'s cozy relationship with the man who defeated him, No. 42, Bill Clinton? Could it be because of the way Trump repeatedly savaged Jeb—the not completely terrible Bush!—then did a little jig on his campaign's grave?
I mean, probably! Or it could simply be that, as a man who's occupied the Oval Office, he simply views a racist and incontinent demagogue like Trump categorically unfit by every sane metric to be president of the United States. Here are 176 of them, courtesy of GQ new guy Keith Olbermann:
TL;DR: Trump bad.
