CelebrityWatch Lin-Manuel Miranda Turn Donald Trump's Tweets Into a Musical
On top of a New York City sightseeing tour bus. Naturally.
What happens when the man whose musical about the founding fathers tackles the current election? You get Lin-Manuel Miranda atop a sightseeing bus singing Donald Trump's tweets for a bunch of tourists.
There are plenty of reasons Donald Trump shouldn't be president, but his Twitter is certainly one of them: It's an orgy of unprofessionalism, racism, and fear-mongering, from the hyper-insensitive to the food-brags. But with Miranda's talent, his terrible tweets become beautiful music in a dissonant clash of message and melody that has you thinking "Damn, if Miranda can come up with this stuff on the spot, that's probably why Hamilton is so good."
Watch him craft tweets such as "I would like to extend my best wishes to all, even the haters and losers, on this special date, September 11th" and "Happy #CincoDeMayo! The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!" into tunes in a trailer for a musical you never knew you wanted (but will be kind of relieved is just a joke).
