NBAThis Apparently Is James Harden’s New Shoe (Updated)
Great Depression chic.
Wow. You'd think after the disaster that was Steph Curry's "Chef" Under Armour Curry 2 Lows, shoe companies would be extra hesitant about delivering an NBA star a shitty signature shoe. But here we are, and James Harden's new Adidas shoe apparently leaked, looking like a worn-down boot that John Steinbeck would have seen in the Dust Bowl.
As is its wont, the Internet is making jokes. And unlike with Steph, Harden isn't coming into the situation as the most beloved athlete of his generation, so these are particularly, well, vicious. (And fantastic.)
And of course, no roast can be complete without our hero and champion:
James, after last season, you can't afford to take an L like this! Your shoe doesn't come out for a few months. There's time to stop this! It's better to go on the offensive now rather than wait to play defense once they come out.
Update: A FinishLine representative wrote GQ and said, "The version circulating is not the final version of the Harden I… I can’t speak to what is being shown on sneaker blogs and social right now, but it is not the Harden I that will go to market."
