SportsPoor Sap Has to Hold iPhone While Drake Practices His Half-Court Shot
"I feel good about this one… Okay no, this one… One more… Ah so close, I gotta take another…"
I think it goes without saying that being friends with Drake would be awesome. You'd travel glamorously around the world. You'd sit courtside at any NBA game you want. You'd eat at the best restaurants. You'd party with beautiful people. All the while being able to make jokes about Degrassi. It doesn't get better than that. It's the dream we all have when we're first making friends as children in pre-school. "One day, this will be like Entourage," we think while we fight over coloring books. But as good as it is, it's important to remember that all good things come with a cost. And in this case, it seems that the cost of being friends with Drake is having to sit there with an iPhone, filming him for hours, hoping that he will finally make a half-court shot from his back so that you guys can finally go get that pizza he promised you.
Now if you notice, the video begins with Drake saying, "one more." This indicates that he has made multiple unsuccessful attempts to this point. You wouldn't say "one more" if you've only taken and missed one shot. "One more" is something you say to reassure the people around you they won't be there all day. But think about it: You're Drake. You have your friends hanging out in what looks to be an Atlanta Hawks practice facility. Are they about to complain if you spend three hours trying to get that great shot for the gram? Hell no.
(Also, the Hawks? What's up? Do the Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks have some kind of Global Ambassador exchange program?)
Now do I know for sure that Drake took hundreds of shots to get this? No. But do I choose to believe it? You bet your ass. It took Steph more than one shot, and Drake's no Steph Curry.
For one thing he has better shoes.
