Turns out Riz Ahmed's IRL style is damn good.

HBO’s The Night Of might be over forever—much to the disappointment of crime-show nerds and TV golden age fans everywhere—but the show’s star Riz Ahmed (a.k.a. Nasir Khan) is still capturing our attention. The 33-year-old English actor appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” yesterday wearing a green Armani suit that was sharp and just flashy enough. Ahmed’s stylist, Ashley Weston, is best known for her work with Paul Dano and Dave Franco, and is a pro when it comes to this kind of brave-but-refined flex.

Notice how Ahmed’s suit is tempered a bit by that dark-color shirt? That’s a move you can use in your wardrobe. We’ve seen it on Rami Malek and Jonah Hill this summer as well. By skipping the tie, and the ubiquitous, blindingly white shirt, the whole thing is easier to digest, not to mention infinitely more sophisticated. Weston was also wise to finish off Ahmed’s look with some classic black oxfords and leave it at that. Not every man needs tennies and some flashy jewelry to look cool in tailoring.

Here’s hoping this is the beginning of a beautiful red-carpet friendship between Weston and Ahmed—and that we get to see the actor in some grade-A airport gear pretty soon here.
