Every man should own a navy-blue suit that looks as good as the Gucci number Miles Teller wore to the Los Angeles premiere of War Dogs last night. Helping Teller look his best was his stylist of two years, Warren Alfie Baker, who finished the look with a leather-strap watch from Baume & Mercier and a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses. Baker told us he wanted something “super classic” for the premiere, which is why he gravitated towards a three-piece notch lapel suit from the Italian house. “I loved the fit of the suit and the small print detail just gave it a little something extra”, he said.

So how can a regular guy achieve move-star results if he doesn’t happen to have Alessandro Michele on speed dial? Baker advises to focus on finding a suit with a nice fabric, and then put in some QT with your tailor to nail the fit. He urges guys to pay special attention to making sure the sleeve and legs of the suit are slim, in order to achieve a more modern look.

“The accessories make a huge difference too,” the stylist said, “a plain navy suit with a cool print tie and clean pocket square can, 9 times out of 10, put you a cut above the rest.” Baker also suggests trying a monochromatic shirt and tie if wearing a three-piece suit with a white shirt feels a bit traditional for you.
