PoliticsMan Seated Behind Donald Trump Was Having None of His Bullshit
And in one moment, a brave man perfectly captured the entirety of the 2016 presidential race in one expression.
Look, we all understand what's happening now. Every day, Donald Trump is going to say something outrageous and that's going to be the news story of the day. Now, some days that statement will be insane and dangerous and scary. Other days it will just be insane. Shockingly, today falls into the latter camp. You see, today Donald Trump claimed that Barack Obama is the founder of ISIS. Now, of course he means that metaphorically (though you can bet your ass that he's hoping some of his dumber constituents take it literally), but still, that's a pretty outrageous thing to claim. In most campaigns, that would be a shocking and disastrous thing for a candidate to say. In this campaign? It seems downright mild.
So we're not going to focus on the fact that Donald Trump called the president of the United States the founder of ISIS, which is a coy way of calling him a terrorist. No, instead we're going to focus on the guy who was seated behind Donald Trump at his rally today. As is often the case with politicians giving speeches, campaigns will do their best to make sure that the people behind the candidate are a diverse cross-section of the populace. Even the Trump campaign, for all its dysfunction, tries to do this—especially as Trump is in fourth place (FOURTH) among black voters. Today a black man seated behind Donald Trump couldn't contain his disdain for the candidate's Obama-ISIS talk.
And there you have it. The 2016 election in one facial expression. I couldn't love it more.
