SneakersKanye's Newest Yeezy Boosts Might Be the Ones Everyone's Waiting For
The "V2" Yeezy Boost 350s have the good shot of seeing the light of day—and store shelves.
Everyone's been waiting for new Yeezy Boosts. It's practically a past time for sneakerheads and casual Kanye fans alike. And while new colorways and baby versions, even Yeezy Season 2 crepe-sole boots have satiated some of the need for fresh Yeezys, even they haven't been able to replace the excitement of seeing (and hopefully copping) a new Adidas-sanctioned Yeezy silhouette. It's not that they don't exist—it's just that Kanye West himself seems to be the only who owns them. There' are his black Yeezys with white stripes, gray Yeezys with orange stripes, or the newer, sleeker spin on a duck boost. But earlier this week, things got interesting when Mr. West stepped into the streets in two different never-before-seen Yeezy Boosts.
The first was a black Yeezy similar to the "V2/550" style we reported on earlier, but this time sans white stripe. (The "SPLY 350" print remained on the side, this time around in red.) The next pair was a black/white Zebra stripe design, which also featured a red "SPLY 350" print on the side, seen below.
But while other new Yeezys stayed unconfirmed by Adidas, this new white/black version has been promoted by Adidas's own Jonathan Wexler (the man who brokered Kanye's Adidas deal all the way back in late 2013) on Twitter (which he doesn't do often with unreleased styles). Additionally, Kim Kardashian West as well as Kardashian family friend Jonathan Cheban (of $770 facial fame) both took to social media to promote the new style. What could this all mean? Well, nothing, but it might mean these newly-designed kicks not only exist, but are coming soon.
Of course, we know by now not to hold our breath just because Kanye West himself road-tested a new Yeezy style. It could just mean that West wanted to try out the newest samples or iteration himself. But with his Yeezy Season 4 show approaching next week on September 7th, it wouldn't be a bad time to give the world a new pair of 350s. Just saying.
