CelebrityJoseph Gordon-Levitt Is the World’s Most Stylish Subway Busker
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is at his best, style-wise, when he’s wearing a dark, slim-cut suit and a skinny tie. Clearly he’s aware of this fact as he wears the rig pretty much everywhere—even to play an impromptu gig on a Los Angeles subway platform (yes, L.A. has public transit). The stunt was filmed to promote Gordon-Levitt’s production company’s “Everyday, Spectacular” initiative, which asks musicians to film themselves performing in public places.
Gordon-Levitt explained a bit about the project on the production company’s website, saying,
“I want to challenge musicians, singers, dancers, and performers of
any kind to go into an ordinary setting, and make a spectacular moment
out of that everyday situation. You can sing, dance, play around,
dress up in costumes, do any kind of extraordinary activity. These
performances will be recorded from the standpoint of a passerby. So in
the end, we’ll have a big, vibrant, beautiful, spectacular,
collaborative piece of art.”
While JGL probably didn’t think his suit qualified as a costume, an audience member begged to differ. At the end of the clip a man yells out, "You look like Pee-Wee Herman a little bit." While that may be true, Gordon-Levitt is still the most stylish subway busker we’ve ever seen.
