CelebrityConor McGregor’s Post-Fight Suit Was A One-Two Style Punch
After a somewhat surprising loss to MMA fighter Nate Diaz in March, Conor McGregor got his revenge at the UFC 202 in Las Vegas on Saturday night, beating him after five rounds and 330 significant strikes landed between them. It was quite a fight. Predictably, McGregor didn’t show up to the press conference in some unassuming black suit or too-casual track suit. Nah. He rolled up in a loud, shiny, fitted AF plaid three-piece complete with a matching turquoise tie and pocket square. The collar of his shirt would have made Karl Lagerfeld proud.
In fact, the suit was so loud, so aggressive, you almost missed the fact that McGregor was wearing a hospital bracelet and a leg brace with it. The square sunglasses he put on for the after-party likewise obscured his busted up face and ears. All in all, his outfit did the talking. Or in this case, screaming.
And we're fans of all of it. For one, the man gained some 25 pounds for the fight so nailing the fit of his suit was never going to be easy. For another, sartorial subtlety is not his thing. We’ve known this. But we mostly forgive his sartorially aggro stylings because of his gracious attitude after the fight was over. He said of Diaz:
“Boy is he one tough motherfucker. He kept walking forward, he took
every shot. I dropped him multiple times. He just keeps coming. His
face was busted open and he's still coming forward. It was a hell of a
fight, he's a hell of a competitor. The whole lot of it brought out
the best in me and it forced me to look at myself truly. I'm just
We hope McGregor danced all the dances in his plaid suit at Intrigue nightclub in Las Vegas. He more than earned the right to let his swervy suited man flag fly.
