CelebrityConor McGregor Is Turning into Russell Westbrook
There’s a swervy style showdown happening between two of the most colorful dressers we know.
MMA fighter Conor McGregor is a beast in the ring, no doubt, but he doesn't let the showmanship end there. On multiple occasions, he has come to his post-fight press conference looking like he stepped off the goddamned runway in a perfectly fitting suit with just enough swagger to keep things interesting. Really, the guy has a level of sartorial prowess usually reserved for Hollywood big-hitters, and we like what he brings to the sport on both an athletic and a style level.
And yet, yesterday, while leaving the Hollywood club The Nice Guy in Los Angeles, McGregor took a break from his adventures in tailoring to give us some lessons in off-duty style, with an emphasis on crazy patterns and light-wash denim. These are some Russell Westbrook levels of flexing, which isn't to say that we haven't seen similar looks from the UFC champ in the past, because we certainly have.
Still, McGregor makes a strong case for making an eye-catching outfit out of three easy pieces: a boldly printed long-sleeved sweater, a pair of faded jeans, and some white sneakers. The 28-year-old chose to accessorize with his signature glasses, a blingy watch, and a necklace, but for our purposes that's strictly optional. As per usual, the beard and haircut are also on point. Is it bold? Yes, sure. But how else do you make sure that everyone knows you're a force to be reckoned with inside and outside the ring?
