SportsConor McGregor Forgets How to Wear Glasses, Screws Up Trash Talk
This is some schoolyard nonsense… AND I LOVE IT!
Conor McGregor has made a name for himself in the UFC with his colorful personality and penchant for trash talk, but this week he failed in a big, embarrassing way. Sure, it's not as bad as getting your ass kicked in a match, but when you're at a press conference and your opponent is trying to intimidate you into doing something, you generally shouldn't do it. McGregor forgot that simple truism today when he and Eddie Alvarez got into some verbal sniping at the presser for UFC 205.
Alvarez was heated and told McGregor to "take them stupid ass glasses off." Now I'm not a part of GQ's style team, but I tend to agree with Alvarez, those glasses did look odd indoors. But that's beside the point. Once you've been challenged to take them off, you absolutely have to keep them on. That seemed to be McGregor's plan, but then things went wonky.
Conor, no! Why would you take them off while saying, "make me"? Think about what you're saying. What are you telling Eddie to "make you" do? You're telling him to "make you" take them off. So do you see how you taking them off as a way of trying to intimidate him doesn't really work? A thing to remember for next time.
