PantsAllow Jaden Smith and Shameik Moore to Show You the Future of Fashion
The Get Down might take place in the past, but these guys don’t look dated in the slightest.
Jaden Smith and Shameik Moore, stars of Netflix’s stylish new series The Get Down, both killed it at the show’s premiere in New York last night. While their looks were completely different—Smith rocked an embellished Gucci jacket while Moore was in crisp, head-to-toe white—they shared in common one stylish detail: looser, shorter length pants.
This silhouette has dominated the menswear runways for the last couple of seasons, and now we’re finally see it trickle down to celebrities and stores (next up: your legs). Cut loose but not cartoonishly so, and cropped or cuffed so they taper just above the ankle, these pants are more comfortable and chill-looking than anything you’ve been wearing for the last couple of years. Okay, save for maybe tailored sweatpants.
The next time you reach for another pair of straightforward, slim-cut pants, stop yourself. Think of Jaden Smith and Shameik Moore, style gods who walk among us, and the joy of wearing something that doesn’t constrict every inch of your lower half, and pick up a pair of these instead.
