EntertainmentAlec Baldwin Will Play Donald Trump on This Season of Saturday Night Live
Baldwin will debut the character on the season premiere this Saturday.
A new but very familiar face will play Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live this season: Alec Baldwin. The 30 Rock star will debut a Trump impression on the season premiere of SNL this Saturday, and he's signed on to play the character throughout the season.
Baldwin, of course, is an SNL regular, having hosted the show a record 16 times. He actually appeared as a different politician last season, playing Jim Webb during a Democratic debate sketch. Baldwin takes over the character from Darrell Hammond, who played Trump last season. (Hammond will remain in his role as host.)
The move is similar to SNL's decision to have Larry David play Bernie Sanders throughout last season, which resulted in hilarity nearly every time. And don't worry—Baldwin certainly has the comedic chops to pull off the impression.
